The Salt 1 has a blade made out of a precipitation hardened steel that doesn't rust. The H1 steel is naturally hard, and it will hold a sharpened cutting edge equivalent to many carbon steels. H1 has 1 percent nitrogen instead of carbon, so it cannot rust. It features a modified sheepsfoot blade made of H1 steel. The blade is hollow ground with a texture notched thumb ramp, and Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The contoured black fiber reinforced nylon handle has checkerboard texturing, Boye Dent lock back, lanyard hole, and black stainless steel pocket clip. The clip is mounted at the butt end, it is reversible from side to side.
